Message From Mr. Mahaffey

Today, towards the end of the school day, the administration received a report regarding a threat made by a middle school student towards the school corporation. The report indicated the student threatened to "shoot up the school." Once the school received the threat, law enforcement was immediately notified of the situation. It was quickly determined that there was no credible threat to the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

The student who allegedly made the threat has been temporarily removed from school attendance, and parents have been contacted. School administration will continue to work with law enforcement and legal counsel until this issue is thoroughly investigated and resolved.

I want to assure the community that the Adams Central Community Schools administration takes all statements of threat seriously and will immediately turn all reports directly over to law enforcement. If anyone has more information to share regarding this issue or any other concerns affecting school safety, please contact Adams Central administration immediately by calling the school or visiting our website at www.accs.k12.in.us and clicking on "Report a Safety Concern".

Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in us.

Sincerely, Joel Mahaffey, Superintendent, Adams Central Community Schools.
