This morning, The Department of Education, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office, released reopening guidance for school officials.
We are now transitioning from a preliminary planning approach to a focused and strategic team emphasis that will work to ensure Adams Central presents a safe and effective learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors; for the coming Fall.
At this time, we plan to start school for students, as scheduled, on August 14th. However, we also understand that due to the uncertainties surrounding COVID 19, this plan may be altered.
When school reopens, we will be prepared to not only meet all State and Federal guidelines, but we expect to exceed these requirements so that every student in attendance will feel safe and secure, thus allowing all school-aged children and young adults to focus on our goal at hand, to educate all students at the highest level possible.
I want to encourage everyone to closely follow our social media accounts, as we will provide frequent updates in the coming weeks and throughout the remainder of the summer. The recent guidance document is now available for your viewing on our corporation webpage and app.
On behalf of our school board, school administration, and teacher association, we value our community, we miss our students, and we are confident in our ability to establish new procedures and protocols to ensure everything will be in place to support the safety, security, and well-being of our students and staff.
Thank you,
Mr. Joel Mahaffey
