Dr Rachel Baum gave a presentation on March 5th about the eye and it’s functions as a wrap-up of the Life Science unit. Students engaged in interactive stations and were able to ask Dr. Baum questions about optometry.

In February, several AC Band Alumni & Friends helped us fill the stands in the Hangar for Saturday night basketball. Thank you to all those who came out to play. Band members enjoyed performing with the alumni and can't wait for next time!
AC shined at the ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble. Nathan Amstutz and Gavin Johnson both received Gold with Distinction on their solos. Gideon Burgin received a gold rating on his solo. Briggs Shifferly took three solos to state and brought home two gold medals and one silver medal! The brass and clarinet choirs received gold ratings and the percussion ensemble received silver ratings. Congratulations to these students on all of their hard work!
On Friday, we celebrated students going to state competitions with a walk through the building. Damon Light is headed to state for diving. Briggs Shifferly, Nathan Amstutz, Gideon Burgin and Gavin Johnson will be performing solos at ISSMA along with the clarinet choir, brass choir, and percussion ensemble. Good luck to all of these students.

The 6th grade woodwinds class took part in some friendly competition. Students chose a partner and played their scales together for the class. There was tight competition, but Teagan and Hayden came out on top and were crowned our scale champions for the day!
4th grader, Lydia, surprised the Lunch Ladies with some fun and yummy treats!
5th grade band students have been hard at work practicing their music to earn their band karate belts! Ember has earned all her 5th grade belts and is now working on 6th grade belts. Hadley is on the verge of completing her 5th grade belts. As students complete their belts, they showcase their hard work with the "belts" on their instrument case. The band directors are so proud of the 5th grade band and their progress.
Attention Seniors and their Parents: If you have not filed your FAFSA for the 25-26 school year, AC is hosting a filing event on Wednesday, February 26, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Reps from INvestED will answer questions and assist you.
The BPA Shoe Drive ends this Friday (Feb 28). To donate, drop off gently used or new shoes of all sizes at one of the school offices or send them in with your student.
